HARIO is excited to announce our collaboration with Tachikichi, a world-renowned Japanese maker of ceramics, that was founded in Kyoto back in 1752.
These gorgeous sets include both a heatproof glass teapot and two heatproof glass cups, with matching designs.
Kyo-Karakusa
The arabesque karakusa pattern symbolizes longevity and prosperity of one's descendants, and evokes the image of vines intertwining and spreading out. It is rendered on the glass with the refined sensibilities of Kyoto; in a clean, beautiful and modern design.
Unkin
One of the representative painting techniques of Kyoto-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki, unkin (which translates to 'cloud brocade'), vividly depicts cloud-like cherry blossoms and autumn leaves as splendid as brocade.
The colourful depiction of both cherry blossoms and autumn leaves in a single design creates a vibrant pattern that can be enjoyed, regardless of the season.
About the teapot itself
This teapot has been designed for ease of use, allowing you to enjoy Japanese-style green tea or black tea, for a moment of rest in your day. The large tea strainer matches the shape of the glass, allowing the tea leaves to expand easily, and extract their delicious taste. The shape of the teapot and spout allow for an easy pour, down to the last drop.
